HK Insight is an independent advisory firm where I work with companies, owners and investors on finance, M&A, investment strategy, corporate strategy and sustainability — drawing on more than 25 years across private equity, investment banking, management consulting and corporate strategy.
Founder & Advisor
My name is Martin Bang-Löwgren and I am the founder of HK Insight, based in Copenhagen. I advise clients on finance, M&A, investment strategy, corporate strategy and sustainability / sustainable finance, drawing on more than 25 years across private equity, investment banking, management consulting and corporate strategy.
Most recently, I spent 16 years as a Director at Polaris, a Copenhagen-based private equity firm, and served as its first Head of Sustainability from 2020 to 2025 — building the firm's approach to ESG integration, climate strategy and EU regulatory readiness across SFDR, CSRD, the EU Taxonomy and CSDDD.
Before my time in private equity, I gained relevant experience from roles in corporates, management consulting and corporate finance.
All my engagements draw on this combination of investment, strategy and corporate experience and sustainability expertise to support clients across a broad range of topics.

Integration into investment processes and corporate decision-making, EU regulatory readiness (SFDR, CSRD, EU Taxonomy, CSDDD), climate strategy (TCFD, SBTi). Expertise in UN Guiding Principles / OECD Guidelines and due diligence.
How we work together
I have the ability to support on project management, process, decision-making and communication, combined with analysis and research. I am capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels of a firm, covering the high-level questions but also willing and able to engage in the actual work.
My engagement model is honest, open, collaborative and down-to-earth, built on respect and understanding for both the individuals and the objectives. I collaborate through a pragmatic mix of digital and physical meetings, workshops and interviews, combined with my own work, to ensure an effective process — with the understanding that the process itself is an integral part of a successful outcome.

Who am I
I'm Swedish, born in Stockholm, and now live in Copenhagen with my wife and our two teenage daughters. In my spare time, I enjoy being with family and friends, reading, cooking, running and spending time outdoors. I feel fortunate to genuinely enjoy my work, and draw a lot of energy from both the tasks at hand and the collaboration with others.
